The ICRC is appealing for 895 million Swiss francs to help the victims of war and internal violence in 2006. In addition, a further 154 million Swiss francs will be allocated to coordination and support provided by Geneva headquarters. More than 12,000 employees in 80 countries worldwide are working to assist and protect people suffering as a result of armed conflict. Pierre Krähenbühl, presents the ICRC's priorities in the year ahead.
