Zimbabwe: providing vital drugs and safe water to rural health centres
Zimbabweans are facing extremely hard economic times resulting in the highest inflation rate in the world, a situation which is putting added pressure on the country's already weakened healthcare system. The ICRC is supporting 16 rural health structures in three districts.

Following assessments of health services in rural areas of Zimbabwe in 2006, the ICRC identified the need for essential drugs, medical materials and consumables (e.g. syringes, latex gloves) along with safe water and sanitation facilities. The organization developed an integrated approach, combining health, water and sanitation interventions to improve the provision of health services.
